Antonov An-24
(Retired from active fleet)

Antonov An-24 is short and medium range passenger aircraft based on which an entire family of aircraft such as An-26 cargo and An-30 air photography have been developed.
Designed and built in former USSR, An-24 flew for the first time in 1959 and entered the service in 1962. It is estimated that over 1000 aircraft have ben built. This type of aircraft was exported to the most of Warsaw Treaty countries and is still in service. It entered the Romanian Air Force inventory in 1965 as a transport aircraft.
