Major General Laurian ANASTASOF
Chief of the Romanian Air Force Staff

Major General Laurian ANASTASOF was born on 18th of July, 1965. He graduated from the Air Force Military School "Aurel Vlaicu", in 1990, as a pilot. During his career, Major General Laurian ANASTASOF served in various positions within Romanian Air Force.
Between 1990 and 1995 he was assigned as pilot, chief pilot, flight lead, 86th Airbase.
Between 2001 and 2002 he served as Weapons Instructor, 95th Airbase.
After the graduation of the National Defence University "Carol I", Bucharest in 2004, he was assigned as Squadron commander, Air Force Training School.
In 2007 he graduated the Air War College, USA and was assigned as Squadron commander at the 95th Airbase.
His experience as a pilot consists of more than 2100 hours on Mig 21 LanceR, L-29, L -39, MiG -21MF, RFMM. Prior to his current position, he held the appointment of Commander of the 71st Air Base in Campia Turzii.
Starting December 2013 he is the Chief of the Romanian Air Force.

Major General Laurian ANASTASOF is married, with one daughter.
