Air Flotilla General Laurian Anastasof was born on 18th July 1965 in Calarasi. He graduated from Air Force Officer School "Aurel Vlaicu" in Boboc, Buzău County in 1990. After graduation he was assigned to 86th Air Base where he filled positions from simple pilot to squadron commander. From 2001 he was appointed training instructor responsible for air-to-air and air-to-ground combat to 95th Air Base in Bacau, position which he filled until his admission to National Defense University “Carol I”. After graduating the University, General Anastasof was assigned Squadron Commander to the 95th Air Base. In 2007, he graduated Air War College, Maxwell AFB, US. General holds a master’s degree in strategic science.
He accumulated over 1600 hours flying Mig 21 LanceR , L-29, L -39, MiG -21MF, RFMM.
Evaluation flights with F-16, Mirage 2000, Mirage F-1, Alfa-Jet.
